Our scores are our own measured opinion at a point in time, not official metrics of any AI platform and not statements of fact about any company. We are independent, payment never affects rank, and any brand can request a correction.

This disclaimer governs the Rankings, Signal Scores, grades, brand profiles, comparisons and reports published by [REGISTERED NAME] at https://topcitationsignal.com. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. What a Signal Score is
The Signal Score is our own measurement, expressed as our opinion, of how visible, trusted and consistently cited a brand appears to be across AI engines and the authoritative web, at the time we measured it.
It is produced by our published methodology: we run category prompts against AI systems, parse the answers for brand mentions and cited sources, weight those sources by authority, independence and recency, normalise eight signals to a 0–100 scale, and combine them using fixed weights.
2. What a Signal Score is not
2.1 Not an official metric. No AI platform issues, approves, endorses or validates our scores. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Perplexity, Microsoft, Meta or any other AI or search provider. Their names and marks are used solely to identify the systems we measure — that is nominative, descriptive use, not a claim of association.
2.2 Not a view of anyone's internal ranking. No AI platform discloses how it ranks or selects the brands it names. We measure observable outputs, not internal systems. Nothing we publish should be read as a claim about how any platform's model, index or ranking actually works.
2.3 Not a statement of fact about a company. A score is an evaluative judgement derived from measured data — comparable to a review or an index rating. It is not an assertion that a company is good or bad, solvent or insolvent, honest or dishonest, or that it has done anything wrongful.
2.4 Not a measure of product quality. A brand can make an excellent product and score poorly, because the score measures visibility and citation in AI answers, nothing more. A low score means AI engines are not naming or citing the brand often — not that the brand is inferior.
2.5 Not advice. Nothing published here is legal, financial, investment, tax or other professional advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy, sell, hire, invest in or avoid any company or product.
2.6 Not a guarantee. We do not promise that any score, ranking, projection or recommendation will hold, recur, or produce any particular commercial result.
3. Point-in-time, and inherently variable
AI systems are probabilistic and change constantly. The same prompt can return different answers minutes apart, models are updated without notice, and availability varies by region and account.
Every score is therefore a snapshot of a sample at a moment in time, subject to sampling variation and to change without notice. A score published today may not reproduce tomorrow. Rankings are refreshed periodically; between refreshes, a published figure may be out of date.
4. Coverage and completeness
Rankings cover the brands, categories and prompts we have chosen to measure. Absence from a ranking means we have not measured that brand in that category — it is not a negative judgement. Category membership reflects our own editorial classification. Sample sizes, prompt sets and coverage differ between categories and are not directly comparable across them.
5. Independence
5.1 Payment never moves rank. Ranking position is determined only by the Signal Score. No brand can buy a score, a position, a grade or a badge. Buying an audit, claiming a profile, or advertising with us has no effect on rank.
5.2 Sponsored content is always labelled. Any paid placement is clearly marked as sponsored and sits outside the ranked order.
5.3 Verification corrects, it does not boost. Verifying a profile lets a brand correct its own facts. It adds no points. Accurate facts may improve the Consistency signal over time — through measurement, not through payment.
5.4 Commercial relationships. We sell audits to brands, some of which we also rank, and we run paid advertising. These relationships never influence a published score. We disclose material relationships where they exist.
6. Projections and forecasts
Any "projected", "potential" or "opportunity" figure is a model output based on stated assumptions, always labelled as such. It is not a forecast we stand behind, not a promise, and not a guarantee of results. Actual outcomes depend on execution, competition and third-party platform decisions outside our control. Do not rely on a projection as a basis for financial commitment.
7. Third-party marks and content
Third-party names, logos and trademarks are the property of their owners and appear for identification, comparison and commentary. Brand logos may be displayed under fair use / nominative use for the purpose of identifying the brand discussed.
Where we quote or excerpt AI-generated answers or public sources, we do so for analysis, criticism and reporting. Sources are attributed where practical. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party content we quote or link to, and a link is not an endorsement.
8. Errors — and how to get one fixed
We work carefully, and we still expect to be wrong sometimes: our sources, the AI systems we measure, and our own processing can all introduce errors.
If you are a brand we cover and something is wrong, we want to fix it. Write to corrections@topcitationsignal.com with:
- the page URL and the specific statement or figure at issue,
- what is inaccurate, and what the correct position is, and
- any evidence supporting the correction.
What happens next. We acknowledge within 2 business days and aim to complete a review within 10. If we find a factual error, we correct it promptly and, where the error was material, note the correction on the page. If we disagree, we tell you why and explain what evidence would change our view. Either way, you get a substantive reply from a person.
Right of reply. A brand that disputes a score we decline to change may submit a short statement of position, which we will consider publishing alongside the profile.
We do not remove a score simply because a brand dislikes it. A correction request is not a takedown mechanism, and a low score is not a defect to be deleted. What we will always do is verify the facts and correct what is genuinely wrong.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss arising from reliance on the Rankings, scores, comparisons, projections or reports. Our liability is limited as set out in section 16 of the Terms of Service.
